What's Up Wednesday: Hello Dolly!

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Event Details

In 1995, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library was launched to foster a love of reading and ensure that every child would have books. By mailing high quality, age appropriate books directly to their homes, Dolly wanted children to be excited about books and to feel the magic that books can create.

Since its launch, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has set and surpassed many goals and milestones. On May 4, 2023 Governor Holcomb signed legislation into law that allotted funding to support expansion of the program into every zip code in the state. It is the vision of the Indiana State Library that all early learners have developed a quality, inclusive home library, are inspired to read, ready to learn, and are excelling academically, creating a thriving child and a vibrant, healthy community.

Join Katie Mullins, Community Engagement Coordinator, and Melinda Brown, State Director, for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Indiana to learn more about program benefits, how it works in Indiana, and the role you can play in inspiring children to Dream More, Learn More, Care More, and Be More
