Title: Digital Preservation: What Libraries Need to Know
Description: When digitizing materials from your library, preservation is just as important as access. In this presentation from representatives of Indiana Digital Preservation, or InDiPres, you will learn what digital preservation entails, including the processes that InDiPres uses to prepare and include content into its preservation network, and how this practice is essential to any library's digital initiatives plan.
- Justin Clark is the Digital Initiatives Director of the Indiana Historical Bureau, a division of the Indiana State Library, and serves and the Chair of InDiPres.
- Charla Gilbert is the Director of Vincennes University, current Treasurer of Academic Libraries of Indiana, and Chair Elect of InDiPres.
- Janice Gustaferro is the Metadata Librarian at Butler University.
The Indiana State Library will make all reasonable modifications to policies and programs to ensure that people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to enjoy all of its programs, services, and activities. If you require an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in this program, service or activity of the Indiana State Library, please contact Michele Gibson, the Indiana State Library’s ADA Coordinator (firstname.lastname@example.org or 317-619-6231). Notice of a needed accommodation should be provided as soon as possible to allow time for the State Library to arrange for the accommodation; however, notice of a needed accommodation must be provided to one of the above contacts no later than 48 hours in advance.
