The
Professional Development Office of the Indiana State Library, thanks to TeachingBooks.net, has once again been able to add to our book club kit collection! This year we added a whopping 24 titles!
However, we need YOUR help to prepare these books for circulation. We’re looking for
volunteers to help us process the books, which primarily means applying
book covers. This is a simple but time
consuming process, so the more helping hands, the better. We welcome volunteers from any type of library. NO EXPERIENCE
NECESSARY. We will teach you how to
cover the books.
A lunch of pizza and salad will be provided. We will hold a Round Table discussion during lunch, for which you will earn 1 LEU. Free parking will be available. Near the end of the day we will take you on a short tour of the beautiful Indiana State Library!
Round Table Topic: How does your library handle loaning book
kits? How does your library run book
clubs? (Discussion topics are flexible and can be adjusted to be more relevant pending the professional interests and responsibilities of our volunteers.)
When: Wednesday, July 24th from 9:30am-4:00pm EDT. Please plan to attend the entire day.
Where: Indiana State Library - 315 W. Ohio St., Indianapolis,
IN 46204 (Enter through Ohio St. entrance.)
Lunch: Pizza and salad will be provided. Please
note any food allergies or dietary restrictions when signing up. Feel free to bring your own lunch if you are
more comfortable doing that. Breakfast
is on your own.
Parking: FREE! Park in the Senate Street Garage, which has entrances on New York St. and Senate Ave. NOTE: The garage says "Employees Only." Please disregard this message. Enter via either garage entrance (New York St. or Senate Ave.) and pull a ticket from the machine. Bring the ticket into the library with you. We will validate your parking before you leave for the day.
